Bad Back

Robert has had a bad back for most our married life. You would think that lifting the heavy furniture would be what would put it out.....not. It's the small and simple things that sometimes lay him flat out for days. Yesterday morning he was fine, it was a relaxing Sunday morning as always, but when he got out of the shower he mentioned that his back was kinked. He couldn't think of anything that he'd done to put it out. It was probably one of those bend over and pick up a pencil wrong that did it. He had a hard time making it through church, he came home and spent the rest of the evening laying on the bed. Today it wasn't much better, in fact it was probably one of the worse kinks he's had in 3 years. He spent the morning doing payroll for his work, luckily he had brought home the stuff he needed thinking he'd work on it over the weekend. Went to the Dr. in the afternoon and got the muscle relaxer and some iboprofen to help the back. The muscle relaxer makes him groggy and so he spends a lot of time sleeping. He's not happy about the whole ordeal, especially since he was suppose to go Golfing with a vendor on Thursday. I hate to see him in so much pain, it really wipes him out.

College Bound

Found out today that Whitney has been accepted to Weber State University for Fall Semester. We are so proud of her!!!! It finishes off the month of June with a bang. She will be taking a few courses needed before she can apply to Nursing school. She just finished up her first 20+ week of clinicals for her Phlebotomy at Davis North Med. Center, she got 100% on all her draws. She is on her way to becoming a wonderful Nurse.

Whitney & Jesse's Reception

Our neighbors back yard where the Reception was going to be.
Its so beautiful, this is actually our back yard,
but our neighbor has been taking care of it for 3o years.
Its ours in name only. I couldn't keep it looking this nice.

It so beautiful, this is what I see from my kitchen window

The purple flowers are so pretty

Where Whitney & Jesse were going to greet their guests.

The reception at the church
Scott with his cousins, Seth and Jenny

My cute parents and my in-laws enjoying the evening

Whitney & Randi both looking pretty in pink

The happy family minus little Kaiser, he was probably being
held by one of his Aunts.

We had Whitney & Jesse's long awaited wedding reception last night. Whitney had been planning for months to have it in our neighbors back yard. She has wanted to have it there since she was little. What you plan and what actually happens sometimes are 2 different things. All week we watched the weather forecast, as it had rained everyday. The early forecast was no rain for Saturday, but Thursday night said it different. I had gotten the church reserved just in case we needed to have it there, much to Whitney's disappointment the church was it.
The decorator was wonderful, she brought the church to life. I borrowed some planters and other live flower arrangements from wonderful friends to bring the outdoors in. I didn't get any of those pictures showing more of the decorations, I guess I was too busy doing other things. I'll have to rely on Whitney's friend who was the photographer to get me those and the family pictures, I forgot to have someone take those pictures with my camera. Inspite of all the rain that came in buckets before the reception started we still managed to have a good turnout. We couldn't have pulled it off without the help of family members and friends. I hope it was what Whitney wanted. She is moving onto another stage in her life, she's got college to look forward too, getting her first job as a CNA or a phlebotomist, and be able to spend a little more time with her children.

Aunt Sylvia's Funeral

Aunt Sylvia's Funeral

Today was my Aunt Sylvia's funeral, it was a beautiful day as you can tell. The funeral was very nice, my brother Bishop David Whitney conducted and did such a good job. It made his sister proud, my cute Dad, Jeff & Jared Stofferahn spoke as well as Sheri Parker, Cassie Parker played a flute solo, and the closing muscial number was the song "You Raise me Up" by Josh Groban. The pall bearers which were all her boys, a grandson and Uncle John stood by her casket as the song was played. There weren't too many dry eyes after the song was done. It was truly a tribute to Aunt Sylvia who will be missed, I cherished those birthday phone calls I'd receive over the last few years when she could no longer send cards. She was an amazing woman. She is buried in the same cemetary as her parents, the view from her grave site is beautiful. Here is some shots of the familly that was there. A happy occasion as we know that Aunt Sylvia is in a happier place, and I got see family I haven't seen in a long while.

As a tribute to Aunt Sylvia I added "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Grobin to my playlist. Hopefully that song will take on a new meaning after today. Love You Aunt Sylvia.

Kaiser Man

Love that look!

Whitney brought Kaiser with her this morning to Scott's graduation. He is really into sucking his fingers these days, they are always in his mouth. He was such a happy baby this morning and getting so big, he's 5 months old. His cheeks are those that you just want to kiss to pieces.

Scott's Graduation

Another big day for our family. Scott graduated from Elementary school this morning. He's the tall one in the middle with the dark longer hair, for those who haven't seen in awhile. He was given a certificate this past week for having "Perfect Attendance", not something he purposely sought to achieve, but attending 180 days with no absence is awesome. All 6th graders had to wear their Sunday best, and they all looked so nice. Each 6th grader had their name read, and received a graduation certificate from the Principal. We are so proud of both of our children this week, how often do you have 2 children graduate from their respective schools in the same week. It won't happen again in our family. Happy Days! :)

Whitney HS Graduation

The Happy graduated with her family. She couldn't have done it without Jesse.
The proud parents and brother.

Whitney and Randi

The happy graduate.

Showing her tassels for graduating with "Honors".
Yesterday Whitney graduated from Canyon Heights High School, it is the Young Mother's school she has attended since the middle of her Sophomore year. She maintained an "A" average through her 2 1/2 years there on top of having 2 children, getting married and also taking college classes. She became a certified CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) as well becoming a certified Phlebotomist. To top it all she recieved a $1,000.00 scholarship last night as well. If you can't tell I am one proud mom of her and her desire to graduate from H.S., despite the obstacles that she had to overcome. She wants to continue her education and become a Nurse. Congrats to our amazing graduate!!

No Cussing Club

I was reading and article from the Deseret News about the teen from California who started the "No Cussing Club". He mentioned this quote from an email that he got. I really liked it so I thought I would share it.

'Your words become your actions, your actions become your behavior, your behavior becomes your character, and your character becomes your destiny.' So your words become where you are going.

It took a lot of courage for this teen to stand up for what he belives, he had no idea that it would get National recognition. I think it's awesome.

Randi

Every once in awhile my phone will ring, it's Randi calling to talk. She isn't afraid to talk in the phone and will carry on a conversation the best that she can, for as long as you will let her. She continues to love being in her Uncle Scott's shadow, and helping Grandpa when she visits. She loves to be outside, running around the yard or playing on the neighbors playground, or catching bubbles that anyone will blow for her. She loves to kiss her brother and give him hugs. She is turning into quite the lil miss. She always put a smile on my face when she comes to visit.

Beautiful Mountains

Tonight while at Scott's soccer game we sat facing East, he usually plays in a different field, and the games are on Saturday, so we sit facing West with the sun at our backs. Well tonight as I was sitting there I noticed that the Wasatch mountains really are breath taking with just the tops still covered with snow. And take special note of the bottom picture with the LDS church in the back ground, note 2 steeples. Yes, these churches are just about back to back, only in Utah will you see that. Also I just just noticed that the 1 blue player between the 2 yellow with the black shorts and white trim just happens to be Scott, I didn't plan that one at all. I just wanted to capture the beauty of the mountains. The top photo is the moutains facing South and the middle picture towards Layton. Utah really is a beautiful state. (Side note: Scott's team won this game 2-1 with Scott scoring the winning goal).
