No Cussing Club

I was reading and article from the Deseret News about the teen from California who started the "No Cussing Club". He mentioned this quote from an email that he got. I really liked it so I thought I would share it.

'Your words become your actions, your actions become your behavior, your behavior becomes your character, and your character becomes your destiny.' So your words become where you are going.

It took a lot of courage for this teen to stand up for what he belives, he had no idea that it would get National recognition. I think it's awesome.

Randi

Every once in awhile my phone will ring, it's Randi calling to talk. She isn't afraid to talk in the phone and will carry on a conversation the best that she can, for as long as you will let her. She continues to love being in her Uncle Scott's shadow, and helping Grandpa when she visits. She loves to be outside, running around the yard or playing on the neighbors playground, or catching bubbles that anyone will blow for her. She loves to kiss her brother and give him hugs. She is turning into quite the lil miss. She always put a smile on my face when she comes to visit.

Beautiful Mountains

Tonight while at Scott's soccer game we sat facing East, he usually plays in a different field, and the games are on Saturday, so we sit facing West with the sun at our backs. Well tonight as I was sitting there I noticed that the Wasatch mountains really are breath taking with just the tops still covered with snow. And take special note of the bottom picture with the LDS church in the back ground, note 2 steeples. Yes, these churches are just about back to back, only in Utah will you see that. Also I just just noticed that the 1 blue player between the 2 yellow with the black shorts and white trim just happens to be Scott, I didn't plan that one at all. I just wanted to capture the beauty of the mountains. The top photo is the moutains facing South and the middle picture towards Layton. Utah really is a beautiful state. (Side note: Scott's team won this game 2-1 with Scott scoring the winning goal).

Sleeping Peacefully

I went shopping with my sister Teresa on Wednesday and her daughter Gabby fell asleep on her doggy. I guess we wore her out shopping for groceries. Sweet dreams Gabby.

Prom

Whitney & Jesse went to Whitney's Senior Prom last night held at Davis High. They had a good time. Grandma and Grandpa got to babysit the grandchildren at their apt while mommy & daddy went on their date. It's hard to believe that Whitney is almost done with school.

Proud Mom

This is bragging rights from the proud Mom. Whitney completed her CNA course and is now certified. She did that as well as going to her regular classes the past 2 semesters. She is also taking a philbotomy course to help towards becoming a nurse. She wants to apply to Nursing school after she takes a few more pre-req classes this summer. I am proud of her for accomplishing this with 2 babies. Way to go Whit!!

4 months already

Kaiser is 4 months today, another measurement of his life in months. I can't believe that he is 4 months already. I continue watching him 3 days a week while Whitney is finishing up this last month of her Senior year. He is so cute as he changes and is learning to do new things each day. He is starting to cut teeth, so there's the constant drowling, never fussy though, he always has his fist in his mouth to suck on it. He's starting to roll to his side, hasn't made the full roll over yet, just give him a few weeks. He will laugh when you tickle him, has a smile that melts your heart, and loves to try and talk with me. He is starting to discover that he can reach his toy mobile when I lay him on his back. I love being able to spend time with and watch him change. Grandchildren are such a blessing from Heaven. I wish I could keep him this size....oh well. I love you Kaiser boy.

Happy Easter

Today the grandchildren & great grandchildren went to Grandma and Grandpa Whitney's for an Easter Egg Hunt. There was snow on the ground so the hunt was indoors. Grandma had it in the basement, the kids went in 3 shifts according to their age. The parents hid the eggs for the kids to find. They got 6 eggs with coins in them and then 1 with chocolate treats in it. Grandma made lots of food as she always does, there were Egg sandwiches, potato salad with eggs, rice krispies treats & Aunt Tiffany's yummy chocolate cake. The kids got to decorate door hangers with stickers and had fun putting the stickers on everything and everyone. I think that everyone had a fun time despite the fact that they couldn't go outside and run around. We missed not having Debbie, Jeff and their children, as well as Tiffany, Brandon and their boys. Thanks Mom & Dad for the fun.

Robert's mom

22 years ago on this exact day and date Robert's mom passed away. I still remember the phone call while I was at work, then having to track down Robert who was working construction. It was before cell phones and so my wonderful mom drove me to North Ogden to see him. I had to tell him that his mom and died that morning of a heart attack. That was by far one of the hardest thing I have done. She was only 52 years old, and too young to die. She was laid to rest 5 days later on a day just like today, cold, blowing snow and miserable.

I met my mother-in-law when I was 14 years old, she was a wonderful person. She could cook, she taught me to cross stitch. I still can't cook like her to this day. She raised a wonderful son who of course is my husband. I have thought of her often over the years, sometimes wishing she were here to give answers to questions that only she could. All those who know her were truly blessed by her earthly existence.

Happy Birthday Dave

Today is my brother Dave's birthday. I am so proud of my brother and all that he stands for. He is truly has many Christ like qualities and is an example to all. He is a wonderful husband, father, brother and son. I know that he is an awesome Bishop, and a true example to his YM/YW. Dave overcame his own trials as a Young Adult, and those trials made him the man he is today. He always has good advice for his older and not always wiser big sister. I am grateful today and always to be the "Big Sister" to my younger brother Dave. Have a wonderful birthday.
