Thanksgiving Point

My sister Julie's daughters, they are so cute.
Julie and my adorable nieces.

This flower was a beautiful deep burgandy color.

My favorite color pink adorning this beautiful plant

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the beautiful gardens or the magnificent water falls cascading down the rocks. It was all breath taking.

My cute mom, Julie, my niece and me.
I went to $2 Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point today with my mom and sister and her girls. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, at their soup, sandwich and salad shop. Then onto see the "Beautiful flower gardens and waterfall". We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day weather wise. It was not to hot and not to crowded. We were able to stroll at a leisurely pace, sit by the waterfall and enjoy the sound of the water cascading down the rocks. The day couldn't have been more perfect. It was fun spending time with mom and sister. Thanks for coming along.

Happy Anniversary

August 12, 1983, our wedding day. (Wow, I was young)
April 2008, celebrating our 25th anniversary
Today Robert & I celebrate 26 years of marriage. What an adventure we have been on over these past 26 years years. I wouldn't trade those times for anything, they made us stronger and hopefully better people. We have been blessed with 2 children, and 2 grandchildren, with good health, a good job for Robert. We have made lots of friends during those years, and some we still keep in touch with today. We have had joys and sorrows along the way, but whatever we've done its been together. Love my man to death, Happy Anniversary Robert!!

Happy Birthday Scott

Our first time meeting Scott, he's 1 day old.

His 1st professional picture at 3 weeks old

This was taken a week or so after Scott was sealed to us in the SL Temple. He was 6 months, old and Whitney was 5 1/2.

Scott & Whitney, check out those chubby cheeks. You'd never know looking at him now that he was so chubby. 3 months old

My lil chunky man peacefully sleeping, 3 months old.

He loved to wear his dad hat, and his favorite dalmation p.j.'s, which were passed down from his sister.

He loved his stuffed doggy, the hat is from his birth mom. 1 year old.

Scott has a love for trucks that started when he was little. 2 years old

One of my all time favorite poses of Scott. He was so "cool" with his shades on, lounging on a chair in St. George. 3 years old

Scott's 1st trip to the Ocean, we went to California and took the kids to Newport Beach. He had a blast. 3 years old

Another of his cool dude shots, he wasn't much into the water, so sit on the steps into the pool and play, and lounge. That was his fun in St. George.

A sweet boy - 3 years old

He's 4 years old, another picture with another favorite truck.
A handsome boy at 8 years old

3rd grade4th grade

Still handsome in 5th grade, 11 years old
Finishing up Elementary, 12 years old - 6th grade

Today is Scott's 13th birthday. It's hard to believe that 13 years have gone by. As I look back on these pictures my mind is filled with a flood of memories. Not a birthday goes by that I don't think of his birth mom and the priceless gift that she gave us. Scott is a good tender hearted kid, he's a teenager now, and with that comes the sometimes not so nice kid. He has always had a love for trucks and when he was little he couldn't pronounce the "T", he would pronouce it with an "F". My father worked and worked and worked with him to teach him to say "Truck". He has always loved the miltary and someday wants to work as a mechanic or an engineer for them. He is popular with all his friends, and loves to spend his summer days hanging out with them. He loves being an Uncle to his niece and nephew. He loves music, playing games on his PSP, checking out his Facebook page, and chatting with his friends from there, playing computer games, he loves to swim, hang out at Cherry Hill (when he's with a friend) Although he does go often with his mom, she's just not as much fun. He loves to talk to the girls on his cell phone, and he has a few that call. He doesn't like school too much, although his is excited to enter Jr. High, and eat Pizza everyday, that puts a smile on his face. He has grown like a weed over the last 8 months, he now stand 5' 4 1/2" tall, only 1' 1/2" shorter than me, he's got a size 9 foot. I can't keep him in shoes and clothes. When he was born, the social worker told us he had dark hair and "big feet". And that still holds true today, they just keep getting bigger and bigger. He doesn't like being the center of attention much either, so he's not to excited that I posted this blog for him. We are blessed to have Scott in our home, we had made many memories together, and we'll have many more over the next several years.
Happy Birthday Scott, we love you very much.

August 12, 1983 married for eternity in the SLC Temple, this picture was taken in the visitor's center, back when you could take pictures there.

25 years later
Today I turn 45, wow, where has the years gone. I am so grateful to my parents who brought into this world. Who for 19 years gave me a roof over my head, food and clothing. Who taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our home, who set Christ like examples, magnified their callings and loved their children. I am grateful for the years I lived in their home, for the memories of the family vacations to Disneyland, Kansas, Missouri many trips to Utah, and the trips around Colorado in our Chitty van and pop up tent. I am grateful for and love my own family, for my husband who was raised in the Gospel, who served a mission, who honors his priesthood, magnifies his callings, is a good husband, father and grandfather, and an awesome provider. For my children, and grandchildren, for my trials and for my blessings. I'm thankful for all my family and friends, you helped make me who I am today.

My lil Man

This was taken on the 4th of July, while everyone else stood to watch the parade, we hung out together on a blanket under a tree. He's getting too big too fast, as you can see in this picture he loves to play with his toes, especially putting his big toe in his mouth. He's mastered the laying on his stomach thing well, he can play with or actually suck on toys and roll from front to back and all over. He still has a smile that can melt your heart, and does so everytime he hears my voice. I can't believe that he's almost 7 months old, the time flies so quickly. Being a Grandma is one of the joys in my life. I am glad that I get to be around to watch my grandchildren grow.

Ft Lauderdale Florida

A cruise ship docked, loved the water slide at the back

The same ship, so big it barely fit into my camera
This yacht was docked outside our hotel room, we were right on the water front.

The Region 3 PTA Trio (Davis School District)

My PTA friends from Utah County

The Utah PTA was well represented at National Convention

Enjoying our first night in Ft. Lauderdale, dinner with my friends.

Taking a water taxi ride to dinner, saw some very large and expensive homes, Ft. Lauderdale/water front style.

Enjoying a walk along the beach, the rain stopped for a couple of hours so we could go

The 6 of us fondly became known as "The PTA Peeps"

Don't know who the runner is, just wanted a picture of the ocean, and the 2 different colors of blue.

Another yacht docked across from our hotel.

Last week I went to Ft. Lauderdale for 4 1/2 days to the National PTA Convention. It was my first time to the East Coast, first time to Florida. It was as people said muggy, muggy, muggy, and it rained everyday, somedays longer than others. I haven't experience humidity like that in my life, it was not fun. The hotel I stayed in with my other PTA friends was right on the waterway. We were surrounded by very large yachts on the backside of the hotel, the front side, our view, was the intercoastal highway. We didn't have too much opporuntity to sight see because of the convention, it took almost a full day to travel there. We did see a little of the city, the highlight though was going to the ocean and enjoying the sound of the waves crashing along the shore. We found a resturant that we liked, we ate there twice, it was across the street from the ocean, so we got to continue and enjoy the view as we ate dinner in our rocking table with benches. Just like a rocking horse, it was really cool. I did have a good time, its always fun to bond with the women that I will spend the next 2 years working with on the State level. Robert was home alone while I was gone, I took Scott to his cousin's in Idaho before I left and Robert picked him the night before I got home. Side note: Robert's back is still bothering him, not as bad as a couple of weeks ago. He has been going to a Chiropractor and getting adjustments, his hips are out of alignments, thus causing the pain.
